Leaders must be able to wear both buts, relating effectively both upward and downward. So, there are the discussions about leadership issues are raised by the incident.
Discus what action Pardini should take? Consider the path-goal model of leadership and the contingency approaches to leadership before making your decision.
Pardini should build up technical skill, which refers to a person’s knowledge of and ability in any of process or technique.
Pardini should build up human skill is the ability to works effectively with people and to build teamwork. Pardini should change its leadership style according to their employee, and here my thinking is autocratic model will be the best model for them.
Path-Goal Model of Leadership:
Path-goal leadership states that the leaders job is to use structure support and rewards to create a work environment that helps employees reach the organizations goals. The two major roles involved are to create a goal orientation and improve the path toward the goals so that they will be attained. Leaders identifies needs, provide appropriate goals and then connect goal accomplishment to rewards by clarifying expectancy and instrumentality relationships, barriers to performance are removed, and guidance is provided to the employee.
Contingency approaches:
Contingency model builds upon the previous distinction between task and employee orientation and suggests that the most appropriate leadership style depend on whether the overall situation is favorable, unfavorable or in an intermediate stage of favor ability to the leader. As the situation varies, leadership requirements also vary leader-member relations are determined by the manner in which the group accepts the leader. Task structure reflects the degree to which one specific way is required to do the job. Leader position power describes the organizational power that goes with the position the leader occupies.
From, the above discussion, I think Pardini should follow contingency approaches making effective leadership.
