How to Protect or Remove Pen Drive Virus

Ways to protect / prevent / remove common pen drive or USB memory drive virus or trojan horse:
Problem: Every time I insert my pen drive or flash drive to computers where I worked, it infected by virus or trojan horse. It usually create files such as Autorun.inf, New Folder.exe, svchost.exe or other exe file. And I can not enter to the pen drive by double clicking.
Step by Step Solution:
1. Click on 'Start' Button (Start button located on lower left corner of the computer monitor)
2. Click on 'Run' Button
3. Type Drive letter of your Pen / Flash / Memory Drive and : (If your pen drive is G drive the just type G: )
4. Press 'OK' Button
5. Now you can see contents of your pen drive.
6. Now click Tools from the menu (Located upper left corner of your computer screen) and Click on 'Folder Options' Button.
7. Click on 'View' Tab.
8. Uncheck 'Hide extensions of known file types' and 'Hide protected operating system files'
9. Checked 'Show hidden files and folders' radio box, then Apply button and Ok.
10. Now your computer shows all hidden system files.
11. Find out files such as autorun.inf, New Folder.exe svchost.exe or any other exe file which may be suspicious from your pen drive.
12. Delete these files permanently.
13. Click on 'File' from menu bar and then 'New' then 'Text Document'. (It will create a text document on your pen drive)
14. Rename the 'New Text Document.txt' to autorun.inf and Rename box will appear for confirmation, just press Yes.
15. Select autorun.inf file and right click on it using mouse and then click properties.
16. Check 'Hidden' and 'Read-only' attributes and press OK. It will prevent virus or trojun horse to spread automatically.
17. Again click Tools from the menu and Click on 'Folder Options' Button.
18. Click on 'View' Tab.
19. This time check 'Hide extensions of known file types' and 'Hide protected operating system files'
20. And unhecked 'Show hidden files and folders' radio box, then Apply button and Ok.
21. Now your computer hide all hidden and system files.
