REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
An EC funded project activity, implemented by ITC and jointly managed with Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh, aiming to provide Technical Assistance to assure safety of food products by establishing Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) based on ISO 22000 for the agro-processing enterprises and building the capacity of professionals as Trainers-cum-Counselors (TcCs) to train and advise enterprises in Bangladesh on ISO 22000, invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from enterprises keen to implement FSMS. Between February and September 2009, the enterprises will be guided on the requirements of ISO 22000 and documentation required by the system by an International Consultant and selected TcCs from Bangladesh. The guidance would continue till the stage of conducting internal audits.
The activity is aimed at building local expertise on ISO 22000, that helps enterprises meet more specific requirements of various global food retailers, thus facilitating market access and increase market share.
Selection Criteria :
* Willingness to improve enterprise's export potential and enhance compliance with international market requirements concerning food hygiene
* Willingness to implement infrastructural changes identified in gap analyses to comply to hygiene requirements of ISO 22000
* At least three-years of manufacturing and distributing Agro-processed products
* Having competent personnel to implement the FSMS requirements and maintain required records
* Personnel fluent in English and Bengali
Enterprises manufacturing food products, keen to implement Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) based on ISO 22000 for manufacturing better products meeting national and international requirements and keen to export their products are encouraged to apply. Interested enterprises are required to send a complete company profile including contact details and a list of products manufactured at the below email address not later than 12 February 2009. An interview with the top management and a visit to the facility for gap analysis would be conducted by the International Consultant between 14 to 26 February 2009.
